About Amruta's Homely Food

I am a passionate cooking person and likes to make various vegetarian recipes across multiple cuisines like Maharashtrian, South Indian, North Indian, Gujarati and Indo-Chinese.

I drive my  business from home kitchen of my apartment which restricts me to an serve as "Restaurant" but I believe in Quality than Quantity and all the customers are kind enough to understand and pre-order to avoid disappointment.

It all started way back in 2015 when one day one person asked me if I can provide home cooked food to his old mother who was bed-ridden and he was not able to cook fresh food daily. 

Considering  his situation, I agreed and started providing daily meals for his mother. This started feel me blessed as I was able to help him and his mother.

Later he started taking tiffin box for himself as the freshly home cooked food was tasty.

This actually inspired me to start thinking about extending this help to other needy people like working professionals, pregnant ladies who are unable to cook fresh food daily.

The thought worked and I started making tiffin boxes for few other people. Their parents from India who started calling me to offer blessing for providing homely food to their son's / daughters. Well, this actually inspired me to keep doing this work. This passion continued when I was required to travel to the California, US for my husband's work for a year.

When we came back to Basingstoke in 2019, the COVID-19 Disaster stuck the whole world and I literally though I might not be able to work again. But destiny had different plans and things started getting back on track post COVID-19. 

I started making more kind of "A-La-Carte" orders to families, which got a good appreciation from all. I started feeling more confident. All customers encouraged me start making food for Party / Function Orders which actually help to serve many people. In my journey to cook for  one old-lady to now serving many people in Parties and Functions is a Blessing for me.

It really makes me proud and happy when someone calls me after eating Samosa made by me and say "I felt like I am in Chandni Chowk in Delhi" or someone just call and asks to make some snacks as they were late to the party and couldn't had snacks as those were finished by then but they just tasted the green chutney and they are craving for that taste since then.
